My recent role was as a caregiver to my husband, who had Alzheimer’s and stage four prostate cancer. This was my role for 10 years. It was my honor to be his advocate, his researcher, his historian, his keen eye, as I observed other needs that would come up that he could not identify for himself. It was also exhausting. I understand what it is to have Alzheimer’s and to be a caregiver of someone with it. I attended many classes on caregiver support. I attended classes teaching Tippa Snow‘s methodologies in how to help an Alzheimer’s patient move forward with tasks with smiles, support, and patience to reduce anger, stress or humiliation.Previous professional experience:Director of Sales, Bradford Home SuitesNational Sales Director, Regional Sales Director in radio marketing and sales.I served on the American Cancer Society - Relay for Life fundraising board, St. Jude’s Country Care’s national fundraising campaign, classroom consultant with Junior Achievement, and kids voting marketing board.I am a mother of two and grandmother of three. I love living in Colorado Springs .Being a part of the solution is my goal.
