Doug Jones is currently the full-time caregiver for his wife, Dianne.
Past experience which is helpful to A Place Like Home:
Doug and Dianne started Project Hope (to assist the poor) at St. Anne Parish in Illinois. It grew to be a multi-million-dollar enterprise in the next 20 years. It started as a garage sale and is now a thrift shop. Doug was a member of the first Board of Directors and was responsible for implemented a grant system. Concurrently, Doug was a board member for The Michael Joseph Foundation for 13 years, acting as treasurer and secretary.The non-profit conducted various fundraisers and disbursed funds to five agencies focused on housing for low-income families. Doug then, concurrently was a board member for The Alliance to End Homelessness for Cook County, IL for 6 years. He served as CFO, CIO, and grant reviewer. 18 board members represented over 200 agencies, all focused on various aspects of homelessness. Funding came from HUD, through Cook County with strong incentives to have collaboration among agencies. Later, employed by a National real estate corporation, Doug headed up a team that had been awarded a contract from the Chicago Public Schools. Mayor Daily employed Gary Chico and Paul Vallas to overhaul the Chicago school system using private enterprise. Doug was a real estate team leader responsible for information systems, call center development, vendor management and DEI (including a relationship with Operation Rainbow Push). The team manage the requirements of 400 schools.
